Governor addresses 118 district heads in Kebbi
Kebbi state government says its will continue to involve traditional rulers in the implementation of government programmes and policies as custodians of customs and tradition.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu reaffirmed this while addressing one hundred and eighteen District Heads from the four Emirates in the state this Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.
The governor briefed them along with local government chairmen on the state of affairs of government.
The briefing also touched on economy, agriculture, security, electricity and empowerment.
The governor similarly listened to contributions from the District Heads about the peculiar needs of their areas.
He introduced them to officials of the Central Bank, Bank of Agriculture and NIRSAL, aimed at making an input on moving the state forward as well as profer solution on co-opting traditional institution into the scheme of things.
Senator Atiku Bagudu advised traditional rulers to forward proposal about areas of intervention in their localities for prompt government attention.
He pledged to look into requests presented before him on roads, power supply, reinforced security, agricultural input, as well a as palaces and vehicles for District Heads.
He commended traditional rulers in the state for their cooperation, support and loyalty to the administration.
Senator Abubakar Bagudu congratulated those appointed recently as district heads as well as condoled with them on those who departed the world.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Muhammad Shalla Gwandu and Alhaji Abubakar Bello praised Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his responsive and inclusive leadership by carrying along district heads in the governance of the state.

In their separate remarks, the representatives of Ministry of Commerce Idris Muhammad Argungu, NIRSAL Mikailu Abdullahi, Central Bank Sabo Altine, Special Adviser on Energy, Security Adviser and SEMA Special Adviser Alh. Sani Dododo commended the Governor for initiating the forum to discuss development of the state.
In his vote of thanks the Chairman of District Heads Forum, Alhaji Umar Ahmed Gwadangaji commended, the Governor for assigning role to District Heads and involving them in Education, Agriculture, Health and Security Committees of the discuss.
He affirmed their loyalty and support to the present administration.
