In celebrating this year’s World Polio Day, Deputy Governor Kebbi Sama’ila Yombe Dabai commends government, donor agencies, NGOs, traditional institutions
The commendation was made on Saturday by His Excellency, Rtd Col Samaila Yombe Dabai mni, fss, psc+ MBA (TAMBARIN ZURU) when he was represented by Hon Ibrahim Attahiru Tadurga, Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor in a programme organised to celebrate the World Free Polio Day in Nigeria, held at Zuru Emir’s Palace, Zuru town.
On behalf of the Deputy Governor, Hon Ibrahim Tadurga used the medium to commend governmental efforts from Federal, State and Local Governments, International and Local donor agencies, nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) as well as the traditional institutions in eradicating Polio.
He however commended the efforts of His Royal highness, Maj Gen (Dr) Muhammadu Sani Sami, The Emir of Zuru in eradicating polio in Zuru Emirate through sensitisation using traditional leaders.
Key important features in the programme were presentation of awards to notable traditional leaders in recognition of efforts to eradicate polio as well as donation of tricycle to survivors or victims of polio.
In attendance were members of Zuru Emirate Council, Commissioner Health, government officials, health personnel as well as victims of Polio among others.
