In continuation of his state-wide inspection of areas affected by flood, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu this Thursday visited Yauri Emirate towards assessing the situation on ground caused by the flood.
He addressed displaced persons of Tungan Na-Hari, Cigumo, Loko, Tilo, Tungan Maigoro, Sakaci, Gafara, Wara, Ngaski and Tungan Mangoro at IDPs centre Tilo.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed deep sympathy about their plight, telling them to regard the tragedy as an Act of God.
He said the administration would provide them with agricultural input including fertilizer, seedlings and pumping machines to enable them embark on dry-season farming.
The governor offered women in the area financial support in addition to provision of mattresses, cooking utensils, food stuffs, drinking water, healthcare services, clothing and other requirements at the camp.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu commended local government officials, traditional rulers, well-to-do persons and other individuals who provided assistance to the victims.
In separate remarks the local government chairmen of Yauri, Ngaski, Shanga as well as village heads of Sakachi, Hakimi Ango, Women Leader Kulun Mummuni of Gungun-Sakaci and Hamiki Tilo Mamuda Abubakar expressed appreciation about prompt government response to mitigating the difficulty of the displaced persons, and thanked Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his care.
