Deputy Governor urges Vigilante groups (SA Kai) in Zuru to fish out bad eggs
His Excellency, Rtd Col Samaila Yombe Dabai mni, fss psc+ MBA (TAMBARIN ZURU) the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State on Saturday while reacting during Security and Stake holders meeting in Zuru, appealed to vigilante group (Sa Kai) to operate within the legal frame work in trying to complement security efforts in the fight against banditry and kidnappings.
The Deputy Governor while interacting with some members of the vigilante group after the meeting who bid him farewell equally reiterated his earlier condemnation of illegal operations of any kind adding that perpetrators of bad image must be fished out.
Samaila Yombe Dabai in reaction to statement made against his person and Co by Alh Muhammadu Kiruwa during the last meeting, presented some documents detailing how recovered cows were issued back to victims around Bena axis in 2016/2017 by the committee responsible for that.
The Security meeting was aimed to regulate and coordinate the activities of Vigilante Group (Sa Kai) held at Komo Unity Hall, Zuru this Saturday 12Th September 2020.
Earlier in his key note address, Maj Gen Muhammadu Magoro (Galadiman Zuru) said, the meeting is in continuation of regulation process of Sa Kai to operate legally in complementing security efforts which was held in Abuja after powerful delegation of Kebbi State Governor, Inspector General of Police, DG DSS, GOC 8 Div, NIA as well as critical stake holders visited Zuru on 19th August 2020.
Galadiman Zuru further stress the need for proper control of Sa Kai to stand the taste of time in trying to defend the territorial entity of Zuru Emirate.
The Interim President of Zuru Emirate Development Society (ZEDS) AVM SS Ribah rtd, in his words, urged Sa kai to obey and be loyal to the constituted authorities in the course of discharging their duties adding that on no account should they engage in extra judicial activities or bad eggs among them using the organization to carry out illegal operations.
Lt Gen Ishaya Bamaiyi rtd while reacting, described Sa Kai against all odd as the best thing to happen in Zuru Emirate while advocating for unity, he cautioned that Leaders of Sa Kai should emerge without undue interference by authorities.
In his speech, the Chief of Dabai Chiefdom, Alh Suleiman Mika’ilu Sami, while commending the effort of Sa Kai by reducing armed banditry and kidnappings to minimal, condemn the undue interference of the group in civil issues that has to do with Land or Marital cases and describe it as unacceptable. The chief further described how leadership of Sa Kai emerged from ward levels to District levels and Chiefdoms without interference.
While responding, Mr John Mani Rumu, pledged allegiance to constituted authorities and assured of fishing out bad eggs among members. He equally pleaded on border operations which he described as a tool that aided in curtailing the flow of bandits to Zuru Emirate communities. He further placed a strong warning to politicians against using the group to achieve their selfish motive. Recall earlier that we arrested some bandits and handed over to the security but were released and made another arrest whom we are closely monitoring, Mr Mani Rumu added.
Sen Bala Ibn Na Allah (Kebbi South), Hon Kabiru Tukura (Zuru/Fakai/Sakaba/Danko-Wasagu Federal constituency), Hon Haliru Wasagu member representing Danko/Wasagu East in the State Assembly in Separate reactions, commended the efforts of Sa Kai while condemn in totality illegal operations such as Royalty, marital and land disputes by the group. They both pledged to give their maximum support should the group maintain it’s status quo by focusing on it’s cardinal directions.
Other Keynote Speaker at the meeting was Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor on Security, Maj Rabiu Kamba rtd who stated that no government will be allowed inside government while stressing the need for clear identification of Sa Kai members.
His Royal Highness, Maj Gen (Dr) Muhammadu Sani Sami, mni, LLD, FICIENT, SAMI GOMO II, The Emir of Zuru gave his keynote address at the meeting.
Dignitaries in attendance were Hon Ibrahim Attahiru Tadurga, Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor, Hon Rabiu Musa Jarma, Chairman Fakai local Government, Hon Suleiman Shindi Chairman Danko/Wasagu Local Government, Hon Usman Ankwe member representing Zuru in the State Assembly, Yakubu Maikyau SAN, Alh Garba Hamisu Zuru Permanent Secretary, Kebbi State Ministry of Information and Culture, Alh Saffiyanu Garba Bena, Permanent Secretary Special duties.
Others are Kabiru Rafi, Chairman Zuru Local Government, Hon Rabiu Garba Aiki Bedi, Vice Chairman Zuru local government
Chiefs of Sakaba, Danko, Fakai Wasagu as well as District heads across the chiefdoms, heads of Security, Prof A A Zuru among others.
Sarkin Malaman Zuru and CAN Chairman Zuru offered prayers for peace and development of Zuru Emirate.
