Bagudu visits victims of floods in Argungu
In the early hours of today, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu visited the flood victims at Argungu who were devastated by incessant torrential down pours. Buildings both residential and commercial as well as official were brought down by rain.
Together with the Governor were former Deputy governor and Chairman Direct Labour Agency Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dantani (Magajin Rafin Kabi), former Deputy Governor and Chief of staff to the Governor Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed Argungu (Jarman kabi).and Honourable Nasiru Mohammed Danumma a member representing Argungu constituency.
His Excellency Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed his sympathy to the victims and assured them of government backing and support. He promised state government intervention today.
Deeply touched by the disaster, His Excellency Senator Bagudu promised to employ preventive measures by first of all renovating the drainges in Argungu and educate people against dumping of refuse any- where and any- how.
Some of the areas visited were: Tudun wada shiyar Jusitce, Gwazange, Argungu, Police Division Argungu, Kitarawa, Shiyar Makera as well as Shiyar Yaraduwa.
Subsequently he visited some IDP camps such as Dankoji Nizamiyya, JSS Tudun Wada and so on.
On his way back to Birnin Kebbi, His Excellency stopped briefly at Ambursa where he exchanged friendly words with the local farmers harvesting millet. The governor was interested in knowing what they would do after the harvest. They said they would plant water melon and cassava. He assured them that the state government would key into the irrigation planting. They thanked the governor for his concern and support.
Finally, he stopped at the police Headquarters Birnin Kebbi where he interacted with the trainees under going recruitment. As usual, he wished them the best, they too would get all the necessary assistance.
