The Young African leaders Initiative kebbi state network has donated 3000 seedlings to Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board. The seedlings are to be distributed across the 21 Local Government Education Areas in the state.
This was disclosed by the Secretary of YAli Mr Marwan Umar Gwamba at the flag-off ceremony that took place at the Secretariat of the board, adding that the donation is part of “Yali Goesgreen initiatives” which is a program aimed at supporting the global climate action agenda. (SDGs13)
The flag-off was done by the Hon: Commissioner for Education Alh Magawata Aliero Who in his Remarks Commended Yali Kebbi Network for thier contributions and presented the seedlings to the chairman of the Executive secretaries of the 21LGEAs.
Hajiya Rufa’atu Noma Hammani Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Education also commended Yali, stating; ” Honestly I am so happy today seeing that young people have started taking this kind of Responsibilities, I am a climate Action advocate too and I am so impressed”
Executive Secretary of SUBEB, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar Udulu also added her voice of appreciation disclosing that ” we already have an agricultural club at various primary school whom are led by the primary school pupils, and we will train them on how best we can handle the trees, and this is part of our Sustainability effort, because it’s not just about planting, it’s also about maintaining and ensuring that they grow”
In a goodwill massage Professor Bagudo, Besda Consultant was full of praises to Yali and Prayed that the initiative be sustained.
Members of the network present at the flag-off include Al Hassan Umar, Director Quality Assurance, Ibrahim Diggi and Muhammadu Na Madina.
Earlier last week, the network planted 1000 trees at Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi.
