New Islamic Calendar: Deputy Gov appeals to Muslim ummah to remain prayerful for peaceful coexistence
As Muslims all over the world welcome and celebrate Islamic New Year, His Excellency, Rtd Col Samaila Yombe Dabai mni, fss, psc+ MBA ( TAMBARIN ZURU), the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State has urged Muslims to maintain the peaceful coexistence Kebbi State is known for.
The Deputy Governor made the appeal through Abdullahi Musa Yalmo, Chief Press to the Deputy Governor, who issued a statement to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
The statement further congratulated Muslim faithfuls for witnessing yet another Islamic Year 1442, after the Hijra of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him and thanked Allah for making it possible to be among those alive in good health.
“The statement revealed the readiness of the State Government to ensuring safety of lives and property of the citizens, calling on the people of the State to continue supporting the State and Federal Governments policies and programs for the overall development of the State and Country at large”.
On COVID-19 pandemic, the Deputy Governor re-emphasized on the need for personal and environmental hygiene, maintain frequent hand washing and sanitizing, use of face mask and avoid too much crowd as well as strict adherence to professional advise so as to contain the spread of the pandemic.
