Ibrahim Magu: Unknown persons break into NFIU office, destroy computers, other storage units

Reports reaching us @KebbiDailyNews has it that Unknown persons broke into NFIU office and destroyed computers plus other storage units.

The report read: “Following the appearance of some officials of the NFIU before the Justice Ayo Salami panel, investigating Magu on Thursday, as relating to some accounts suspected to have been used to move money, the NFIU officials told the panel that by their operational protocols and procedure, they don’t go about with such documents”.

According to Akinloye Niyhi, a political analyst who gave the report via his verified handle said, “the NFIU officials thereafter, had advised members of the panel to visit their office Friday morning to sight the documents requested for”.

The NFIU office was later invaded and computers, and other storage devices were destroyed.

Recall that in a letter from the Inpector General of Police, replacement of policemen posted to EFCC was ordered and he had directed all withdrawn officers to report at Force Headquarters 8am Monday.

The approval of suspension of Magu and overhaul of EFCC security personnel were outcomes of panel members audience with President Buhari after NFIU vandalisation due to N510bn traced to a Kaduna BDC allegedly with links to Magu.

“Below are some of the NFIU discoveries/submissions to the panel, which Magu will answer to in the next appearance.

1. Link to a Kaduna-based Bureau de Change found to have made transactions of N336bn, $435mn and €14mn.

2. Link to a Lagos-based pastor who is a close associate of his, found with N573mn in his account.
