As part of his commitments to improving livestock production, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has approved the release of millions of naira to buy goat and sheep to distribute as a loan to livestock farmers (Fulani Communities) in the state.
The Commissioner Ministry for Animal Health, Husbandry and fisheries, Hon. Aminu Garba Dandiga made this known today Thursday 9th July 2020 while a visit to Ruggar Hutawa, Marfakka, Gesse Bayaro, Gayawa and Mochiyo settlements in Kalgo and Birnin Kebbi local government.
The Commissioner further explained that his ministry sets to commence screening of the loan beneficiaries on Saturday, July 11, 2020, adding that the ministry will also train Fulani women on the modern the diary production instead of their traditional milks hawking system.
Similarly, the Commissioner uncovered that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu further pledged to grant another loan of Animal feeds(wheat offal, Cotton seed cake and salt lick) to livestock farmers to enhance their production. He noted that this package of loan would be repay with cattle milks rather repaying with money.
Commending the Governor Baguduon the development, Hon. Aminu Garba urged fulani comminities cooperate with government to massively secure the loan towards improving their socio-economic wellbeing.
Earlier in his remarks the Chairman Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria kalgo local government branch, Muhammad Bello Sodangi praised Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for this wonderful effort of helping the Fulani communities in the state to striving their socio-economic wellbeing. He assured the Fulani communities’ support to the government’s policies and programs.
