DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF KEBBI TASKS VOLUNTEER GROUPS (YAN SA KAI) ON BORDER SECURITY
Deputy Governor of Kebbi State has called on volunteer groups in the state to desist from interfering on domestic issues against the background for which they were voluntarily formed (in support of security agents to fight kidnappings and banditry in border towns).
His Excellency, rtd Col Samaila Yombe Dabai mni, fss, psc+ MBA (Tambarin Zuru) disclosed this when he was interacting with newsmen in Zuru.
While expressing dismay on behalf of the state government, the deputy governor described the assassination of Sarkin Kudun Fakai, the District Head of Bajida Alh Musa Muhammad as regrettable and unacceptable adding that the culprits must be bring to book.
“The volunteer groups must be under the ‘organized security’, defend the territory not over reactions on some civil issues in town.” He said.
In addition, the Deputy Governor reiterated the readiness of Kebbi State government to deal decisively with person or group of persons that will not promote the peaceful coexistence of the state.
“Volunteer groups should assist the security agents in fighting all sorts of crimes in an organized manner”, the deputy governor added.
In a related development, the Deputy Governor interacted with Zuru local government Chairman, traditional rulers, Area commander NPF Zuru, DSS Boss Zuru as well as the chairman of the volunteer groups (Yan Sakai).
