The Executive members of Young African Leaders Initiative(YALI Network ) Kebbi State paid a courtesy visit to OXFAM at Oxfam’s state secretariat.
During the visit, the YALI State Coordinator, Bashar Buhari explained, that the purpose of the visit was to expand the network of YALI and explore the possibilities of partnership with Oxfam most especially in the areas of climate action and agricultural integration in the state.
Other key areas of collaboration as highlighted by the Coordinator include Youth Development in Entrepreneurship and Community Development Plan which will impact young people in the state
In his remark, the State Oxfam program manager, represented by the Governance and Influencing Coordinator, Mr Usman Falaye explained that it was a great pleasure meeting the state executive of YALI network in Kebbi and explained that as member of YALI Kaduna, he knows very well that Yali is a very good initiative aimed at impacting the lives of Young African Leaders.
Mr Falaye also explained that OXFAM will be ever ready to partner with YALI Kebbi where necessary. He also explained that OXFAM was able to plant about 900,000 trees in Kebbi State from 2016 to 2020 which he believes is inline with agenda of YALI network named “YALI goes green”
Mr Falaye advised that YALI should expand their visibility, by leaving the door open to everyone which include government and engage in policy advocacy among other things.
