YALI NETWORK KEBBI SIGNS PETITION ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
Members of Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network in Kebbi State today joined several other international and local organizations to sign the petition against violence on women and girls.
The event which was organized by Kungiyar Tallafin Mata Development Initiative in partnership with ActionAid took place at GwadanGwaji Secretariat, Birnin Kebbi.
The petition was submitted to both the State Commissioner of Justice and State Commissioner of Police in Birnin Kebbi.
While fielding questions from newsmen, Marwan Umar Gwamba, Administrative Secretary, YALI KEBBI, said ” YALI is against every act intended to intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, threaten or hurt women and girls.”

According to him: “YALI KEBBI’S position on Gender Based Violence remains the same with that of the United Nations and ActionAID. We condemn, in every form or manner, actions or inactions that seeks to demoralize women”
He further called on the government and the good people of Kebbi state to desist from these acts which are capable of causing riots in the society.
YALI Network Kebbi’s delegation at the event included: Auwal Hassan Wara, Head of Program, Hussaina Isah Bello, Head of Finance & Audit and Ummulkulthum Limanci, Deputy Director Education and Training.
