Nigeria Association of Women Entrepreneurs (NAWE) Kebbi State chapter recently visited the State Women Correction center to donate items in commemoration of the just concluded International Women’s Day Celebration.
The NAWE Kebbi State Chapter’s Director Hajiya Saratu Mera, who lead the team of women entrepreneurs gave the statement recently while addressing KebbiDailyNews in her office.
According to Mera, the Nigeria Association of Women Entrepreneurs also had sessions with the inmates and trained them on how to make liquid soap, Vaseline and perfumes. “These skills-training which forms the core part of our organisation’s objectives is aimed at empowering the less privilege towards achieving self-reliance” she said.
Part of the activities marking the week-long event also included a visit to the State orphanage where materials were distributed. “Seeing that the children are our future generation, we will always rise to support and encourage young children in every way possible” Mera added.
The Director, Nigeria Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Kebbi State Chapter also called on well-meaning individuals to rise up to the challenge of entrepreneurial-deficit in the State by ensuring the creation of skill acquisition centers and continuous improvement of the state economy for businesses to thrive.
