Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State says security is everybody”s responsibility not only the security agents.
The Governor made the statement while recieving members of Nigeria Army Officers Association ( NAOWA) who paid him a courtesy visit with his wife, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu at Government House over the weekend.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu appreciated the sacrifices made by the officers and men of the Nigerian Army, said everyone has a role to play in maintaining national security, hence the need to support officers and men of the security agencies as well as their families.
He said Kebbi State Government will support the Nigeria Army in the areas of Education, Health, infrastructure and would continue to support their families adding that children of officers and men who have stayed in the state or even transferred to other places are still enjoying the scholarship scheme provided by the state government.
He assured the association that their problems will be looked into with a view to addressing them as soon as possible.
Earlier, wife of the state Governor, Dr.Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu also said the state government is collaborating with Nigerian Army in the areas of Education, Health, road rehabilitation and infrastructural facilities.
Dr. Zainab expressed concern over the prevalence of maternal and infant mortarlity and called for more publlic enlightenment on the need for women to attend hospitals , immunise their children as well as go for ante natal care and deliver their babies in hospitals among others
She also briefed the members of NAOWA about the activities of Medicaid Cancer Foundation and the need for women to take preventive measures against cancer.
Speaking earlier, the Chairperson of Nigeria Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) ,Hajiya Fatima Aminu Bande said they were in Government House on solidarity visit and lay their request for assistance.
She commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his transformational agenda and the success he has recorded in different sectors of the economy in Kebbi State.
Highlights of the event was presentation of gifts to the wife of the governor, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu by the chairperson of NAOWA, Hajiya Fatima Aminu Bande.
