Gbajabiamila, Bagudu bags traditional title award from Yauri emirate
The Speaker,House of Representatives, Right Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila and the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has been conferred with the traditional titles of ” SARDAUNAN YAURI ” and ” MAGAYAKIN YAURI ” respectively by Yauri emirate on Saturday 22/2/2020.
The emir of Yauri Dr.Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi announced this in his palace when the duo paid him a courtesy call before the commencement of 2020 annual Rigata and Cultural festival in Yauri.
The monarch while thanking the Speaker for finding time to attend the Rigata and the governor for supporting the revival of the 200 years old festival, said the award of the titles was a mark of honor and respect to the two personalities by his emirate.
” All people of Yauri are happy with your visit, I really thank you so much for coming even with the problem of Bad weather “.
In his acceptance remarks, the Speaker thanked and appreciated the title ” I want to say thank you very much because coming from you there is no greater honor and I appreciate it and I accept it.
He said he will sit with his members to pick a date to come for a big thank you . He promised to storm the emirate with members of the House of Representatives to ance again thank the people of Yauri through the emir for the honor done to him.
Earlier, Gbajabiamila said he was in Yauri to attend the Rigata cultural festival as a representative of all his members to extend felicitation and greetings to the emir and good people of his emirate.
He commended Governor Bagudu’s starling qualities and described him as a good friend and source of encouragement to him over the years .
He also commended members of the House of Representatives from Kebbi for supporting him in carrying out his legislative functions .
The Speaker described his visit to attend the Yauri Rigata cultural festival as enriching ” From the helicopter flight with the governor to Yauri, I have deeply enriched myself with the knowledge not just of Kebbi but of Yauri and the Rigata “.
He also opined that ” Well for me it was even beyond coming to see and enjoy Rigata, it was more of a cultural exchange because as we go to places we pick up culture “.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and top Kebbi State Government functionaries accompanied the speaker to the palace of the emir . Also at the palace were some Senators, members of House of Representatives, members of Kebbi State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen , Emirs of Gwandu, Argungu Zuru and that of Kontagora.
