The Editorial Board of Kebbi Journal of Business Management (KJBM) invites Research Articles written in English from interested Scholars and Researchers in the University Academic Community, other Establishments and Professionals for consideration and possible publication in its January, 2020 Madden Edition: Vol.1 No.1.
The Kebbi Journal of Business Management (KJBM) is a bi-annual (January and July) double blind peer review publication of the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria. The Journal particularly focuses on all issues related to the field of Economics, Social and Management Sciences.
- THE SCOPE
The Journal covers a broad spectrum of Business, Economics, Accounting and Finance areas. A suggested (not necessarily comprehensive) list of areas include: Business Strategy, Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship, Finance and Investments, Financial And Management Accounting, Auditing, Financial Reporting, Banking, Financial Economics, Human Resource Management, Information Management, Innovation and Technology Management, International Business Management, Marketing Management, Operations and Production Management, Organizational Behaviour, Management Accounting, Business Risk And Insurance, Investment and Portfolio, Strategic Management and Contemporary Management Issues.
Editorial Review and Acceptance: Acceptance of all Articles will be based on the quality and originality of the research and its scholarly contribution to the field of Social and Management Sciences. Manuscripts are subjected to double blind peer review. Final acceptance or rejection rests with the Editorial Board. The Editor and the Publisher reserve the right to modify typescripts to ensure clarity. Manuscripts requiring major corrections will be returned to the author(s).
- Guideline for Authors
3.1 Publication Policies Kebbi Journal of Business Management requires authors to comply with KJBM’s publication policies. The papers submitted to KJBM should be original work, i.e. the same paper must have not been published or accepted for publication in any other journals/books either in full or substantial part; and must not be submitted to any other journal for concurrent publication or being considered for publication or even being reviewed.
3.2 Manuscript preparation
Manuscripts must comply with the following guidelines before entering the review process.
Papers must be written in Standard British English. The language of the paper should be very comprehensive and molded in proper syntax. Slang or jargon should be avoided. Abbreviations and acronyms should be clearly defined when first introduced in the text. Authors should ensure consistency in their writing styles.
3.4 English Language Editing Authors are responsible for the linguistic accuracy of their manuscripts. An author whose teaching language is not English or is not fully conversant with the English language is highly encouraged to seek advice/assistance from subject specialists with a sound knowledge of English grammar.
3.5 Length of Paper
The preferred length of a paper is between 4,500 and 6,500 words inclusive of everything (Tables, Figures, References and Appendices) or alternatively not exceeding 15 pages
Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word (version 2003, 2007 or 2010), using Times New Roman as the font type. All paragraphs including footnotes and notes under each Table should be justified. The Article should be double spaced for the whole manuscript except for Abstract which should be 1.0 with top, bottom and side margins at 30mm.
3.7 First Page
The first page of the manuscript should include the title of the manuscript, the Authors’ specifications, the Abstract and the Keywords The title should be short, concise and reflective of the purpose and findings of the manuscript; brief, and effective. The font size should be 14, bold and centralized while each word is capitalized in the title. Author(s) Full name(s), affiliation(s), e-mail and postal address (es) all in font size 12 of Authors should be indicated. For multiple authors, please indicate the corresponding author using an asterisk. Author affiliations, acknowledgements and information on research grants may be written in a footnote (indicated by superscript symbols, font size 10) on the title page. This footnote should not be part of the consecutive numbering of footnotes of the paper. Abstract should be concise, informative and not more than 250 words, ‘abstract’ should be bold, typed in font size 12.
Keywords should not be more than eight in alphabetical order; the word ‘keyword’ should be bold. Separate each key word by using a comma, capitalize each word in the keywords and do not close this part with a dot.

4.8 Tables and Figures
Tables should be submitted as data -.doc, .rtf, Excel or PowerPoint file- Tables submitted as image data are not accepted, for they cannot be edited for publication. The first letter of each content word in the headings of the Tables should be capitalized, typed in Times New Roman and font size 12 with single line spacing. A brief Table Heading is preferred. Please do not present the headings in either bold or italic format. Tables should be centralized and the heading should be aligned to the left. The contents of the Table should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, single spacing, and aligned to the left. Table Notes which are presented right below the Tables should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 8, single spacing and aligned to the left.
References should be listed at the end of the manuscript, arranged alphabetically by the family name or the main name of the first author. For the same author, or for the same set of authors, references should be arranged chronologically. If there is more than one publication in the same year for the same author(s), the letters ‘a’, ‘b’, etc., should be added to the year and used for the in-text citation as well. References to the publications should strictly follow APA referencing style. (Authors are required to consult a comprehensive APA manual to conform fully to the APA 6th Edition style.)
- Submission of Manuscripts Articles should be submitted electronically to email@example.com and copied to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. Any article that does not adhere strictly with the submission guideline may be returned for necessary revision before entering the review process.
Publication Fees: A non-refundable Assessment Fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) should be paid to the Journal Account and evidence of payment submitted along with the manuscript. A Publication Fee of N15, 000 should be paid to the Journal Account upon acceptance for publication.
