KEBBI CELEBRATES 59th ANNIVERSARY WITH HOSPITAL VISITS, STUDENTS AND PRESS INTERACTIVE ENGAGEMENTS.
As part of activities marking the 59th year Anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence ; Kebbi State Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu led top Government functionaries to visit patients at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Federal Medical Centre and VVF Centre in Birnin Kebbi
He also hosted over 400 pupils and Students from Primary and Secondary Schools across the State to anniversary lunch where he interacted with them to be abreast of situations in their respective academic environments.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu had earlier in the day addressed members of the press in which he expressed Government’s appreciation to Emirs and Community leaders in the State for their positive disposition towards peace building, harmonious coexistence and maintenance of law and order : making the State as one of the most peaceful in the Country.
On the current efforts put in place to launch Kebbi State into the Nation’s Oil Producing League ; Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu explained that so far tremendous progress has been made in the bio – fuels production process with the cultivation of thousands of cassava farmlands in Gwazawa Village in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area towards that direction.
He disclosed that production of ethanol fuel in line with the Kebbi – NNPC Partnership is expected to be realised towards the end of next year.
Other measures adopted by the State Government to stimulate the economy include sourcing of two Billion Naira for injection into the Livestock value chain in the State to justify its position as second only to Yobe State in Livestock profile.
This will further consolidate the success story attained in Agricultural production facilitated by President Muhammadu Buhari through the Anchor Borrower program which widened the scope of investment to the State as witnessed by a number of multi billion Naira investments being attracted to the State: The Governor added.
Similarly, Ruga Settlements have received appropriate attention from the Government by establishing Schools and Water schemes to support their livelihood and cater for the education of their wards, appealing to the Federal Government to support States achieve desired results in the Ruga initiative.
On thousands of out of Schools Children rooming about streets as Almajiri : The Governor disclosed that ongoing collaborative effort with the Traditional Rulers is expected to proffer lasting panacea to Street begging by Children in the State as measures to enlist them in schools are being fine tuned by the Stakeholders and leaders of thought in the State.
