Community Development Planning: OXFAM to support LGAs in Kebbi

From organizing capacity building workshops for Government Officials to providing comprehensive analysis on policy influencing and advocacy campaigns, the PROACT PROJECT by OXFAM Nigeria, is playing a leading role in fostering community development in Kebbi.

This was evidenced in the just concluded 3 days Kebbi State-Wide Joint Local Government Areas Learning Meeting held recently in Birnin Kebbi, where Enoch Bamaiyi, the Livelihood Program Officer, PROACT PROJECT promised to provide technical support to all Local Government Areas in the State.

According to him, “Community Development Planning (CDP) can lay a solid foundation for good governance and facilitate the economic growth of poverty-stricken communities. We promise to partner with all Local Government Areas in CDP, action plan development and replication of PROACT Components”.

While appreciating OXFAM for the training, Yusha’u Muhammad, from the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Jega Local Government, speaking on behalf participants, described the event as a “great program, excellently packaged to ensure good governance in local communities; and community participation in budget planning”.
