Stop killing Nigerians in South Africa- Lawan warns
At the screening of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama today, I reiterated my earlier call for adequate measures that must be put in place to halt the incessant killing of Nigerians in South Africa.

I’m of the view that unless necessary diplomatic steps are taken, we’ll not only be talking about the killing and molestation of Nigerians in South Africa, but other countries as well.
When the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria paid me a courtesy visit few weeks ago, I made it very clear to him that Nigeria will no longer tolerate the killing of her citizens in South Africa. Even if Nigerians commit crimes, killing them should not be the first option.
I have written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I have asked them to furnish us with names of Nigerians killed in South Africa so far. We are going to write to the South African Government and we will put an end to these killings.
-President of the senate, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan.
