The Kebbi Cultural Day is a brainchild of the Kebbi Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation, organized in collaboration with the State Government. The event is aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria, particularly in Kebbi State. It’s geared towards appreciating the value of cultural diversity in Nigeria with a view to promoting national cohesion, sustainable peace and development. This epoch-making event will also mark the 2019 World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development.
As part of activities making the event, there will be exciting exhibition of arts and crafts as well as colourful cultural display by secondary schools from Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru emirates of the State. There will equally be a vibrant and scholarly discourse on cultural diversity. Other activities include presentations of artistic expressions by literary enthusiasts mentored by the Foundation. This momentous occasion takes place as follows:
Theme: The Prospects of Cultural Heritage in Kebbi State in the Promotion of Sustainable Peace and Development.
Chief Host: His Excellency, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Matawallen Gwandu), Executive Governor of Kebbi State.
Special Guest of Honour: Her Excellency, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, Wife of the Executive Governor Kebbi State.
Discussant: Prof. AM Bunza, Department of Nigerian Languages, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Keynote Speaker: Hon. Aisha Augie-Kuta, Founder, Centre for Creative Arts and Talent (SSA to the Governor on New Media).
