The Kebbi State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors ANA is making arrangements to attend a 2day Sensitisation Workshop on legal deposit for Authors, Publishers, Creative Writers, Librarians, Books Sellers and Government Printers in Kano.
Organised by the National Library of Nigeria for the North West Zone comprising of Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kogi, Nassarawa , Jigawa and FCT is aimed at bringing stakeholders together to deliberate on the theme” International Standard for Publishing and Legal Deposit Compliance for Nigeria”
The 2 Day Workshop is billed to hold on Tuesday June 18th and Wednesday 19th 2019 at the Conference Hall of Murtala Muhammed Library Complex in Kano.
A 10 man delegation is expected to represent Kebbi State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors ANA as disclosed at the end of its weekly meeting today in Birnin Kebbi.
Commenting on the significance of the Sensitisation Workshop, State Chairman of the Authors Association Hon Abubakar Bagudu Kalgo stated that legal inputs in publications help in addressing problems of piracy, copyright violation and protect intellectual property from plagiarism and theft more especially at this digital era in which piracy, hacking and other forms of internet frauds become very rampant.
