Kebbi: NGOs to advocate for the domestication of Child Rights Act

In view of the sharp increase in out-of-school children, maternal mortality rate, and child abuse in Kebbi State, NGOs have called for the speedy implementation of the CHILD RIGHTS ACT.

The statement reads:

“Today, 25th May, 2019 is selected to be the Almajiri Child Rights Day.

It’s a nation wide event going to take place in almost all northern states of the nation including FCT.

The program is a collaborative effort of various NGOs working on vulnerable children/almajiri in Kebbi State.

We wish to use the medium to advocate for the domestication of child rights act in Kebbi state. Join us to make it a reality.

*Note* that this event is organized by the State’s local NGOs.

Thank you.”
