A Six Man Technical Committee for repositioning Nigeria’s Agricultural Commodity Sector to the global e – marketing outlets has been constituted.
A statement issued by FACAN Executive Secretary Prince Peter Bakare said the Committee is made up of Alh Sherrif Balogun, Dr Usman Hassan, Hon Ebeh Ikechukwu,Alh Adebola Muhammed and Alh Abubakar Bagudu Dallatun Kalgo as Members of the Committee with Prince Peter Bakare serving as Committee’s Secretary.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Committee held on Tuesday March 26th at the FACAN office in Abuja, National President of the Association Dr Victor H Iyama urges members of the Committee to work assiduously and expeditiously to promote the remarkable achievements attained so far in the Commodity sector of the economy stressing that the diversification policy of the present administration is right on track to revamp the economy and position the Nation to greater global market exploits.
Explaining the modus operandi of the SMARTER FACAN (the Online Commodity Marketing outfit being developed by the Association) ; the Project Manager Alh Adebola Muhammed said the target of creating 10 Million jobs through agriculture is achievable especially with Nigeria’s comparative advantage as the Commodity hub of Africa.
Under the current arrangements the Smarter FACAN is expected to be unveiled mid 2019 in Abuja.
