It was a Melo drama today at the Kebbi State (All Progressive Congress (APC) office as the party Leadership disowned the candidature and declaration of Ibrahim Mera as one of the party aspirant, aspiring for the position of a Governor in the state.
The Aspirant who was at the party office to express his readiness and interest in contesting for the Governorship position against the seating Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu was rejected and denied by the party leadership
Speaking unbehalf of the party chairman, the party state financial secretary Aliyu Bature said that the party members was not aware of his mission and urged him to go back and meet his ward and local government party chairmen for recognition as well as proper presentation.
“We don’t know any candidate than Buhari as president and Atiku Bagudu as Governor for second terms bids; this is what was concluded and endorsed last year. Why bring another person again to contest for the Governorship” he added.
Mera who was a former retired custom controller and a younger brother to the Emir of Arugungu was at the party office with is thousands supporter but was denied and disgraced by party officials. He was directed to suspend his mission over the Governorship positioned because there was no vacancy to that effect.
In his response, the Gubernatorial aspirant, Ibrahim Mera said that his mission was to test his popularity, adding that if he lose, he was ready to take it in good faith and remain a strong member of the APC in the state.
